Better Tonight

Elijah's pediatrician diagnosed him with a raging ear infection today. The good thing about Eli's ear infections...one dose of antibiotic and he is much better, which is the case this evening. His anxiety and touching his face in distress was because he couldn't figure out how to tell us his ear hurt. Now, he is sound asleep in the living room floor -- that peaceful, good sleep.

Thank you all for caring and for your comments.

He still has his legs straight up in the air, which like one comment, could be because it keeps them from throbbing -- whatever works. He remains on his narcotic pain killer and prunes to keep the plumbing moving.

Better days ahead.
Love you all,
Melissa

I'm glad you figured out what was going on and that it was an ear infection if he had to have something it's like the lesser of two evils. I'm glad he is resting peacefully...

Last year, my son was 21, nd had his left leg amputated below the knee, due to sepsis. He said that holding his leg straight in the air and tilted a bit further back helped so much with the pressure and pain. When he is having severe phantom pains now, he tends to do that, he says it still helps.

I hope Elijah is feeling better very soon and that the antibiotics work quickly.

the sweet sleep of the innocent child- nothing better! Maybe if I were innocent, I could sleep like that. I think I am still a child....
